The American Yoga Association (“AYA”) is an association of online advertising companies committed to complying with responsible business and data management practices. Protecting the privacy and security of consumers’ information is very important to us. Our website serves the following functions:
- provides consumers with information about the collection and use of data for online advertising;
- provides consumers a means to opt out of Interest-Based Advertising (IBA) by AYA members;
- provides a means by which consumers may submit questions or complaints concerning the AYA or AYA member companies;
- provides information for companies seeking information about AYA membership and allows them to contact the AYA for more information; and
- contains password-protected pages where AYA members can access member-only materials.
Personal Information Collected on this Website
No personal information is collected on this website from consumers who browse for information about online advertising or who use the opt-out page, or from individuals who access the members-only section of our website.
The only personal information collected on this website is gathered on our “contact us” forms. In the consumer form, fields are provided so that users can submit questions or comments and provide contact information including name, email address, and phone number. In the prospective members and press forms, individuals seeking information about the AYA can provide contact information. We collect this personal information so that we can respond to these inquiries, comments, and questions. We may share information submitted by consumers with member companies or other third parties to help resolve users’ complaints. We also may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law, including by search warrant, subpoena, or court order. You do not need to disclose any personal information to AYA in order to submit a comment or complaint about an AYA company. However, we may be unable to respond or take appropriate action if your information is incomplete.
As discussed below, we also collect non-personally identifiable information on this website. However, we do not merge any of the personal information collected via our contact form with anonymous data collected on our website.

We also serve cookies to help us anonymously track web traffic, as described above.
In addition, AYA member companies serve cookies via this website as part of the opt-out process. To enable a consumer to opt out of IBA by a member company, the member company must set an “opt-out cookie” on the consumer’s browser. Please note that if you delete any opt-out cookies obtained using the AYA opt-out page, such as by clearing all cookies in your browser, you will need to return to the opt-out page to renew your choices. However, the DAA offers a tool that helps to preserve your opt-out cookies and prevent them from being deleted. To learn more about how our opt-out process works, click here.
